Summary

We keep data collection to a minimum. This website does not require an account, and we do not sell your personal information. Optional, aggregate-only analytics stays off unless you affirmatively enable it, and we do not use this site to provide medical care.

Information we collect

• Optional usage analytics. If you enable it, bounded aggregate events about site operation and use. We do not send form text, contact information, health topic identifiers, actual page URLs, or persistent ModernDoc user identifiers in the analytics payload.
• Server logs. Standard technical logs (such as IP address, browser type, and requested URL) generated by our hosting provider for security and reliability. These are retained for a limited period.
• Information you send us. If you email us, we receive the contents of your message and your email address so we can reply.

We do not ask for protected health information on this website, and you should not send us details about your personal medical condition through it.

How we use information

• To operate, secure, and improve the website.
• To understand which content is helpful, in aggregate.
• To respond to messages you send us.

We do not sell or rent your personal information to third parties.

Condition research and email updates

A condition or medical topic you enter is used to find research and prepare a saved reading. Topics and saved publications are shared content, not private medical records. Selected research evidence may be processed by an AI provider to prepare the reading. Leave out names, contact details, and personal medical history when entering a topic.

Following a topic is optional. We send a confirmation email first and create a subscription only after you confirm. We store your email, chosen topic, consent dates and subscription status, together with delivery receipts. This reveals an interest in that topic, which we treat as sensitive. It is not linked to a mobile account or health record, used for marketing, or sold. Resend processes the address and message to deliver the email on our behalf.

To limit abusive requests, we keep temporary keyed identifiers derived from email and network information. These counters expire within 24 hours and are removed during routine cleanup. When enabled, Cloudflare Turnstile also processes technical browser information to verify requests.

Every update includes an unsubscribe link. Unsubscribing stops further updates for that topic; the consent and withdrawal record remains until you request deletion. Use the privacy request form to request access or deletion. Completed deletion removes your subscriptions, associated delivery records and temporary recipient counters. Shared research publications remain available.

Cookies

We use only the cookies necessary to run the site and, where applicable, privacy-respecting analytics. You can control cookies through your browser settings.

Third-party services

We rely on service providers for hosting, content delivery, and analytics. These providers process data on our behalf under their own terms and only as needed to provide their service.

Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal information we hold about you, withdraw consent, and obtain information about disclosures. Submit and track a request through our privacy request form. If we refuse to act, use our privacy appeal form. You do not need to create an account.

Children’s privacy

This website is intended for a general adult audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the site evolves. Material changes will be reflected in the “last updated” date above.
